Jacob DeGeal, assistant professor in the MFA in Integrated Design program and the Master of Arts degree in Integrated Design in The University of Baltimore's Yale Gordon College of Arts and Sciences, has earned recognition in the 62nd Annual GDUSA (Graphic Design USA) Design Awards, receiving wins in two categories: Logos and Symbols, and Signs and Environmental Graphics.
The GDUSA Design Awards are the organization's flagship design contest, "open to everyone in the community: design firms and studios, ad and creative agencies, inhouse departments, freelancers, students and more," according to GDUSA. The competition "honors outstanding work of all kinds—end-of-year, best-of-year—in two dozen categories across all print, digital and interactive media."
Prof. DeGeal's research focuses on how fabrication, design methodologies, and participatory design can influence positive human interactions and experiences in the built environment. In addition to teaching in both the MFA in Integrated Design and the M.A. in Integrated Design programs, he also serves as director of the latter.
