  • How do I get to the Recreation Center?

    You can visit us at:
    Academic Center, Room 300
    1420 N. Charles St. (corner of Mount Royal Ave. and Charles St.)

    When you're inside the Academic Center, take stairway #1 or the nearby elevator to the third floor. A Bee Card is required for access.
  • Who can use the Recreation Center?

    All UB students are automatically members of the Recreation Center (you'll need to bring your Bee Card for access), as well as many UB staff and faculty members. All remaining staff and faculty, as well as UB alumni, can purchase membership. Learn more.
  • Can I bring a guest?

    We have suspended guest passes at this time. Paid memberships will continue to be available, as will a number of additional programs and services.
  • What facilities and equipment are available?

    Within the recreation center, you'll find basketball and racquetball courts, a weight room with TechnoGym machines, a mat room, an aerobic studio, a spin studio with Livestrong bikes, a golf room, a cardio room with Matrix equipment, a plyometric room, locker rooms, a recreation room, a sauna and more.   • Can someone show me how to use the equipment?

    Our staff have developed video equipment tutorials to demonstrate how to use these machines. You can even watch these videos on your smartphones by scanning a QR codes places throughout the facility.
  • What is the dress code?

    Appropriate athletic attire—such as T-shirts, shorts, warm-up suits, sweat suits or aerobic clothing—is required at all times. Specific areas in the recreation center might also have additional requirements, so be sure to check beforehand. Learn more.
  • Are lockers available?

    Yes, lockers are available at no cost. You can check out a day lock from our equipment desk or register a locker for the semester. Learn more.

Inside the Recreation Center is the permanent Athletic Hall of Fame, a tribute to UB's rich and storied athletic history of competition in college division sports. From 1928-1983, more than one hundred All-Americans, hundreds of All-Stars and dozens of division-winning teams represented UB in competitions around the country.
