Imagine, design and build interactive systems to address needs and interests that humankind is only beginning to recognize.

Offered through the Division of Science, Information Arts and Technologies, this Master of Science program emphasizes the design, development and application of significant information technologies to satisfy human needs and desires.

You’ll integrate elements of computer science with humanities and arts perspectives, developing in-demand skills that that companies and organizations are avidly seeking. You’ll apply advanced technologies in the context of the human experience, learning the skills required for this field’s most sought-after careers:

  • information architect
  • interaction designer
  • multimedia developer
  • user researcher
  • user-experience manager
  • creative director.

Your professors, many of whom are managing active research projects, will expose you to cutting-edge topics and encourage you to present your own work at national conferences. You'll also learn from your fellow students, who have backgrounds that range from computer science, social sciences and natural sciences to history, literature, languages and the arts.

Classes are offered evenings (and occasionally on weekends), and some courses are offered in the summer for continuing students. Additionally, some courses are offered online.
