University of Baltimore Digital Design Studio

The digital design studio includes 40 state-of-the-art Macintosh computers spread across several working areas and updated regularly with programs that include the full Adobe Creative Suite (including Flash and Dreamweaver) and Apple's Final Cut Studio. All of the workstations include CD/DVD-R burners for data, audio and/or video as well as FireWire connections for digital cameras, camcorders and other equipment. Most are equipped with high-end photo-quality scanners.

Software resources include more than 2,000 type fonts (and software to help manage, preview and choose them) and an image database of more than 100,000 royalty-free images, all of which are searchable and retrievable via a single-source database.

Output options include high-resolution black-and-white laser printers, a color laser printer (up to tabloid-extra size) and a 36-inch, 12-color Postscript color poster printer.

The digital design studio is open seven days (and evenings) a week during the academic year, staffed with graduate assistants whose job it is to troubleshoot technical problems and answer students’ questions.
