Frank Xu is an associate professor and the director of the MS in Forensic Science – High Technology Crime program. His areas of expertise include software security, mining software engineering data, and applied formal methods. He has published more than 50 peer-reviewed papers in international journals and conference proceedings, including prestigious venues such as IEEE Transactions on Dependable and Secure Computing and IEEE Transactions on Reliability. He was successfully awarded over $1.5M in research grants from NSF, DoE, and General Electric. Before joining UB, he was an associate professor of computer science and the director of the cybersecurity program at Bowie State University.
