Funeral service for Scott Lee Vikander, 45, Stillwater, MN, will be 11:00 am, Thursday, May 24, 2012 at Spitzer-Miller Funeral Home, 1111 S. Main Street, Aberdeen. Pastor Deb Grismer officiating. Burial will be at Riverside Memorial Cemetery, Aberdeen. Scott died Friday, May 18, 2012 near Forrest Lake, MN as a result of a motorcycle accident.
Visitation is from 4:00-7:00 pm with family present from 5:00-7:00 pm, Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at Spitzer-Miller Funeral Home.
Scott Lee Vikander was born on December 11, 1966 in Luverne, MN, the son of Ray and Betty (Hite) Vikander. He graduated from Stewart High School, Stewart, MN in 1985. Scott was honored in high school with many athletic awards including All Conference Football, Basketball and Track & Field.
He went on to the University of Minnesota-Morris, South Dakota State University in Brookings, SD and then graduated from Staples Vo-Tech College with a degree in Robotics. He worked for General Motors Robotics Division in Detroit, MI and then moved back closer to home and was currently employed by Water Gremlin Company in White Bear Lake, MN as a robotic technician.
Scott enjoyed snowmobiling, fishing, golfing and NASCAR.
Grateful for having shared Scott’s life are his parents, Ray and Betty Vikander, Fargo, ND; sisters Michelle Vikander, Las Vegas, NV; MeLinda (Dave) Rawlings, Baltimore, MD; brother Jon (Penny) Vikander, Oxbow, ND; niece Leah Vikander and nephews Max Vikander and Tyler Rawlings. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Scott was preceded in death by his grandparents Bert & Linda Hite, Walter & Martha Vikander and Aunt Karen Morgan-Reisdorph.
A celebration of Scott’s life will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, May 25, 2012 at the Bradshaw Celebration of Life Center, 2800 Curve Crest Blvd, in Stillwater, MN.
