Please join us on April 10, 2018 for an evening with Nancy S. Rase, co-founder and the President and CEO of Homes for America, as she shares insights from her career and the real estate industry.
Ms. Rase previously was the Deputy Director and Director of Housing Development of the Maryland housing finance agency, the Community Development Administration (CDA), until August 1994. During her tenure 255 housing developments with over 13,000 rental housing units were financed with tax-exempt bonds, taxable bonds, state loan funds, HOME and Low Income Housing Tax Credits. During her 15 years at CDA Ms. Rase also managed CDA’s rehabilitation loan programs.
Prior to joining CDA Ms. Rase was a manager at a public housing authority in Hagerstown, Maryland where she was responsible for Section 8 Programs and occupancy of public housing units.
Ms. Rase has performed as a consultant to major developers and served on the boards of nonprofit organizations. She currently is a member of the Enterprise Community Leadership Community, member of the Tax Credit Advisor Editorial Board, and on the Boards of Directors of: Housing Partnership Network (Vice-Chair), Stewarts of Affordable Housing for the Future, Housing Association of Nonprofit Developers (HAND), HP Equity Trust, Anne Arundel Affordable Housing Coalition and Chesapeake Neighbors. In January 2008 she resigned as President of the Maryland Affordable Housing Coalition after a three year term as President and eight years on the Board of Directors. Previously she served on the Governor’s Advisory Council on Lead Poisoning in Maryland and the Real Estate Advisory Board of the University of Baltimore.
She has a B.S. in Finance from the University of Baltimore.Homes for America, a 501(c)(3) tax exempt housing development corporation located in Annapolis, Maryland. HFA specializes in developing and preserving housing, enhanced with services, for low and moderate income households and special needs populations. Since 1994, HFA has developed 70 rental communities with nearly 5,500 apartment homes in the mid-Atlantic states of Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Delaware.
