About the University of Baltimore
On behalf of the University of Baltimore community, I am pleased to present Expanding the Shared Vision: The University of Baltimore Strategic Plan, 2008-2012. This document is the result of a collective effort involving UB faculty, students, staff, alumni and external stakeholders. Hundreds of community members participated in focus groups, interviews, online surveys and open campus forums to articulate a tranformational vision for the University of Baltimore, one that is both aspirational and achievable.
I commend the dedication and creativity of all who participated in this process. I accept with you the challenge of realizing the four key elements of our shared vision:
- to enhance the learning experience
- to grow enrollment to meet state and workforce needs
- to achieve national ranking and recognition in select academic areas
- to secure the necessary resources to implement the University's overarching vision.
The openness, transparency and commitment that marked the planning process has strengthened the UB community. Let us continue to build on that strength as we create a University of Baltimore dedicated to excellence in all that we do.
