Far Flung Faculty

CUBA

UB FACULTY AND STAFF—including Merrick School of Business Professor DARLENE SMITH, College of Public Affairs Professors JEFFREY IAN ROSS and LENNEAL HENDERSON, Yale Gordon College of Arts and Sciences Professor DIEDRE BADEJO, School of Law Professor NIENKE GROSSMAN, Provost JOSEPH S. WOOD and President KURT L. SCHMOKE—traveled to Cuba in June to explore potential academic partnerships as opportunities for engagement, now that U.S.-Cuban diplomatic relations have been restored. Accompanied by Coppin State University business Dean Ronald Williams and Baltimore attorney Kenneth Thompson, they visited the University of Havana and the University of Matanzas, several academic research centers, community arts and culture projects, museums, an urban organic-garden project and more.
