Are you an entrepreneur? Have you dreamed of starting or are you already running your own company? Or are you simply interested in supporting the growth of entrepreneurship in Baltimore? Then plan to attend the University of Baltimore's Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation's "Startup Maryland Day" on Oct. 7. There you'll meet, learn from, and cheer on some of the area's most promising and successful business leaders.
Now in its eighth year, Startup Maryland's "Pitch Across Maryland" bus tour will stop at the University of Baltimore for an afternoon of events, including informational sessions and a business pitch competition, on Monday, October 7.
This year's celebration, held during Baltimore Innovation Week, will feature workshops, one-on-one coaching, a startup "boot camp," and networking opportunities, along with food, drinks, and more—in other words, something for anyone looking to join Baltimore's entrepreneurial ecosystem.
Held in UB's Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation in the William H. Thumel Sr. Business Center Room 104, from 2 to 6 p.m., and open to the public, UB's "Pitch Across Maryland" event will include:
- "How-to" sessions on topics important to entrepreneurs and founders, such as angel investing 101 and support for minority and women entrepreneurs
- The chance to record your pitch on the "STRT1UP Road Show" bus
- "Office hours" with UB's Mentors and Entrepreneurs-in-Residence
- Meeting and mingling with investors, business leaders, and other like-minded people during a happy hour sponsored by LifeBridge Health Innovation
