The Center for Drug Policy & Prevention at The University of Baltimore is looking for a highly organized candidate with an excellent academic track record and strong literature review skills for the part-time (20 hours/week) position of Prevention Technical Assistance Specialist to work within ADAPT: A Division for Advancing Prevention & Treatment. ADAPT serves as the national training and technical assistance resource for prevention programming in High Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas (HIDTAs) across the nation.
The Prevention Technical Assistance Specialist will function to support the provision and response to Technical assistance (TA) requests received by ADAPT in the area of substance use prevention. The primary duties of this position will be to conduct literature reviews and systematic reviews, synthesize academic literature and technical reports for lay persons, analyze quantitative and qualitative data and create reports, and organize, coordinate, and assist in the development of activities and events to promote awareness, sharing of best practices, and innovation.
ADAPT is located in Reston, VA. A remote work option is available for this position.

Key Responsibilities:
* Collaborate in the design and development of training and technical assistance materials in the field of substance use prevention. Conduct literature reviews and systematic reviews. Synthesize academic literature and technical reports for lay persons.
* Analyze quantitative and qualitative data and create reports.
* Organize, coordinate, or assist in the development of activities and events to promote awareness, sharing of best practices, and innovation.
* Attend staff meetings, team trainings, and ad hoc meetings as needed. Participate in trainings offered through ADAPT and other professional development offerings.
* Perform other duties as assigned by the ADAPT Director, Deputy Director, or Technical Assistance Program Manager to meet ADAPT and HIDTA objectives.
Education: Master’s degree in education, social work, sociology, psychology, health administration and policy, public health, criminal justice, or related area of study required. Doctoral degree in education, social work, sociology, psychology, health administration and policy, public health, criminal justice, or related area of study preferred.
Experience:
• 2 years of experience working in a Mental Health and/or Substance Abuse related field.
• Previous experience conducting academic literature reviews.
• Previous work on projects that required excellent organizational, interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills.
• Applicant must submit a portfolio of samples of work demonstrating ability to conduct systematic reviews, literature reviews, synthesis of evidence, and reports.

• Commitment to supporting and improving substance use prevention efforts in HIDTA communities throughout the United States.
• Outstanding interpersonal, verbal and written communication, and organizational skills.
• Skilled at problem-solving.
