This position will report to the Network Operations Center within the Washington/Baltimore High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (W/B HIDTA) and report to the Software Development Unit Supervisor. This position will be responsible for testing and development support on various W/B HIDTA applications.
**Due to the nature of this work, you must possess the ability to pass a Law Enforcement Background Check and obtain a government issued Secret Level Security Clearance.
**The position may need to be available during significant or special events that may include crises or high-level investigations related to terrorism or criminal activities. Additionally, events such as a computer virus situation may require the knowledge and skills of the incumbent during hours other than normal work hours.

Key Responsibilities:
• Create and manage SQA processes. This position will be responsible for developing SQA processes that ensure we meet project requirements and the quality needs of our organization.
• Developing acceptance criteria and creating test plans. This position will work directly with the development team throughout the software development cycle. This position will create tests plans and acceptance criteria that is specific to each sprint cycle.
• Execution of test plans and reporting test results to development team. This position will execute the developed test plans, provide detailed results to the development team and work with the development team to provide proper resolution.
• Working on higher level support requests that require internal application working knowledge. This position will work on requests that require a deeper understanding of the application. These requests can come from project stakeholders, participants, users, project managers, helpdesk or the development team. This position will also provide detailed tracking and response to the requestors.
• Creating reports, data exports and statistics for various needs upon request. This position will be responsible for assisting in data requests that support the needs of our participants as well as our organization. This data may be included in program literature, public documentation, online documentation as well as supporting internal audits and system checks.
Education:
Required - Bachelors Degree
Preferred - Bachelors Degree in IT
Experience:
Required - 3 years’ experience working in software quality assurance
Preferred - 5 years' experience working in software quality assurance, having Scripting or SQL knowledge a plus
The individual in this position must be able to develop and execute SQA processes as well as provide development support.
1. Ability to develop SQA processes
2. Ability to create test plans specific to currently worked on projects
3. Ability to create regression tests
4. Participate in the software development lifecycle to create acceptance criteria based on requirements.
5. Ability to create technical documentation to communicate SQA processes, issues surrounding test results and proposed resolutions.
6. Ability to track, troubleshoot and respond to requests for technical issues that require deeper application specific knowledge.
7. Ability to write or learn how to write SQL queries against a relational database
8. Ability to learn or implement higher levels of testing such as automated testing, using specialized test software or using scripting to assist in SQA processing.
