The Director of Real Estate & Economic Development - Part Time, provides leadership and overall program oversight of the curriculum creation and the review and revision of the curriculum. Acts as an advisor for the students. Assist the University’s career center in obtaining co-op/internship positions for students who are in the program. Promote the REED program to students and the real estate community in Maryland, as well the promotion for scholarship and partnership sourcing. Candidates should have a record of college level teaching and/or substantial executive experience to demonstrate clearly the potential for quality university instruction, service to their profession, and to the university. Instruction of specialized program courses is required.
Key areas of responsibility include:
• Implement and oversee curriculum
• Maintain a program of high quality
• Instruct 1-2 classes per semester
• Advance the program through promotion to students, the real estate community in Maryland, and partnership sourcing
• Act as an advisor to the students in the program
• Advise and direct REED Advisory Board
• Assist the University’s career center in getting co-op/internships for students
Required Qualifications
Education: Master’s degree, preferably in Business, or related field/discipline
Experience: 10 or more years of experience in a significant organization involved in the real estate or economic development industries
Preferred Qualifications
Education: PhD or terminal degree in a business discipline
Experience: Senior level position in a significant organization involved in the real estate or economic development industries
