The Grant Writer, under the direction of, and in collaboration with the Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations, will contribute to the strategy and drive implementation to renew and steward our current corporate and foundation funders, and will help build our corporate and foundation prospect pipeline.
In addition, this position will be responsible for writing new grant proposals, renewal applications, grant reports and conducting grant program tracking, including managing proposal submission deadlines and deliverables.

Key Functions/Responsibilities/Tasks:
Developing grant proposals
• Coordinate with program team colleagues to develop accurate content for grant applications and reports.
• Assist in the renewal of current corporate and foundation grants, including writing new grant proposals.
Reporting
• Assist the Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations with required grant reporting, including narrative and financial reports.
• Work with program, finance, and other staff to ensure timely submissions.
Research and strategy
• Meet regularly with the Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations to discuss prospect strategy, solicitations, and various communications with foundations and corporations.
• Research and vet possible new corporate and foundation funders to increase prospect pipeline.
Administrative
• Record and track all activity and progress in the Raiser’s Edge database.
• Maintain and regularly update the calendar of corporate and foundation deadlines (i.e., due dates for grant applications, reports, letters of inquiry, etc.)
Required Education:
Bachelor’s degree required
Required Experience:
Two years of grant writing experience, preferably with an education focus.
Preferred Experience:
3 to 5 years of experience as a successful grant writer; • A proven record of securing major grants • Experience with Raiser’s Edge
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Grant writing experience, preferably with an education focus; • Comprehensive knowledge of research, and the ability to distinguish and identify opportunities for university programs. • Excellent writing and verbal skills; • Be highly organized with the ability to implement systems and follow-up processes; • Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
