In the article, “Human Oversight in the Age of AI: Transcription, Curation, and Access in a University Oral History Project,” University Archivist Fatemeh Rezaei reflects on the University of Baltimore Stories: 100th Anniversary Oral History Project, a department-led initiative completed in 2025 that resulted in 58 oral history interviews documenting the experiences of faculty, staff, alumni, and community members.

The article highlights how the project team incorporated AI tools to support transcription and description while maintaining a strong emphasis on human review, editorial judgment, and ethical responsibility. It underscores the department’s approach to balancing efficiency with accuracy and care in representing participants’ narratives.

The issue also features a photograph from the University of Baltimore’s archival collections, the Poe statue, on its cover, further showcasing the Library & Archives materials.
