UBalt Law Alumni Honored by The Daily Record

Photo of a smiling woman with shoulder-length light brown hair standing at a wooden desk in an office, wearing a black sleeveless top with a V-neck and a gold necklace with a green pendant. She rests her hands on the desk in front of a name plate. On the wall behind her are two decorative skateboard decks, one reading "Charm City" and the other "Baltimore."
Isabel Mercedes Cumming, J.D. ’93, is one of several UBalt Law alumni honored by The Daily Record MD500.

Graduates honored statewide

More than a dozen University of Baltimore School of Law alumni have been named to The Daily Record's 2026 MD500, the publication's premier recognition program celebrating 500 of Maryland's most influential and accomplished professionals. Selected by The Daily Record's editorial team, honorees span 38 categories statewide, recognizing individuals who are driving innovation, creating jobs, building communities, and shaping the state's future.

Isabel Mercedes Cumming, J.D. 93, was awarded The Daily Record’s Hispanic Leadership Award in Government. The award recognizes Hispanic leaders in six categories for their professional accomplishments, community involvement, and commitment to mentoring.

The UBalt Law honorees reflect the range of paths a law degree can open — from legal practice to business leadership, nonprofit management, higher education, healthcare, banking, and technology. Their recognition underscores a defining feature of a UBalt Law education: graduates go on to lead not only in courtrooms but in boardrooms, government offices, and community organizations across Maryland.
