Three faculty members from the University of Baltimore School of Law have been selected as recipients of the 2026 University System of Maryland (USM) Regents Faculty Awards, the highest honor bestowed by the USM Board of Regents to recognize exemplary faculty achievement.

Professor Bessler’s scholarship continues to shape critical legal conversations and enhance the law school’s national academic reputation. Professor Grossman’s public service advances justice and extends the law school’s reach locally and globally. Professor Sellers’ excellence in teaching exemplifies the transformative classroom experience that defines UBalt Law.

Their selection reflects not only individual distinction but also the strength and breadth of UBalt Law’s academic community.

“These awards represent the highest honor the Board of Regents bestows,” said Dean LaVonda N. Reed. “We are immensely proud of Professors Bessler, Grossman, and Sellers. Their scholarship, service, and teaching exemplify what makes UBalt Law exceptional — rigorous inquiry, meaningful public engagement, and an unwavering commitment to student success.”

The School of Law congratulates these extraordinary professors on their contributions to the legal profession and the broader community.
