Several students from The University of Baltimore's MFA in Creative Writing and Publishing Arts are expected to read from their works in progress as the 2025 Fall Reading Series concludes on Friday, Dec. 5 at 7 p.m. The event will take place in the Bogomolny Room in the UBalt Student Center, 21 W. Mt. Royal Ave. The event is free and open to the public.
The MFA Reading Series brings well-known authors to campus for readings, talks and other activities relevant to students in the program. At the end of the fall semester, the students present their own works—sometimes for the first time. In the spring, the series concludes with a formal book publishing and presentation event for the entire graduating class.
"The MFA student reading night is such a fun, festive cap to the fall semester each year—our graduate students gather to share new writing and celebrate their hard work," says Prof. Betsy Boyd, director of the MFA in Creative Writing and Publishing Arts. "It's a party, complete with treats and great conversations about the work. Everyone in the program gets some inspiration just by being in that space."
