'Reimagining Technology in Education' Conference, May 30

The University of Baltimore will host "Reimagining Technology in Education: Insights, Innovations, and Impact," the 2025 Technology and Innovation Conference of the Association of Independent Maryland and DC Schools (AIMS), on Friday, May 30 beginning at 8:30 a.m. in UBalt's Bogomolny Library, 1420 Maryland Ave.

 

NOTE: The conference is full, but AIMS is accepting names for a waitlist. Details listed below.

 

According to AIMS, "Reimagining Technology in Education" will bring together educators, administrators, and technology leaders from independent schools across the region for "an inspiring and thought-provoking day dedicated to exploring the latest trends, challenges, and opportunities in educational technology and innovation."

 

The conference theme "invites participants to reflect on the evolving role of technology in schools and discover actionable strategies to empower both students and educators."

 

Keynote speakers include Dr. Jared Cooney Horvath, a neuroscientist, educator, and author of Stop Talking, Start Influencing: 12 Insights from Brain Science to Make Your Message Stick, leading a morning session on "Technology, AI, and the Brain: Rethinking the Impact on Learning." This session will examine the latest research to better understand how digital technologies influence student relationships, well-being, and academic growth.

 

Pat Yongpradit, a global thought leader in AI and computer science education whose work has included education strategy, curriculum and professional development, district outreach, state policy, and government affairs, will provide the afternoon keynote, "Keepin' It Real to Make the Most of the AI Opportunity." Yongpradit's presentation will project 10 years into the future, painting a realistic picture of how AI can transform education when supported by the right policies, ecosystems, and partnerships. The session will offer practical steps to build AI and computer science literacy and how educators can play a role in shaping the future.

 

The conference will also offer breakout sessions and networking opportunities.
