Dr. Erin J. Richardson earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from VirginiaUnion University in Richmond, Virginia. After college, she returned to her hometownof Baltimore, Maryland to work for the Choice Program as an AmeriCorps memberproviding counseling and mentoring to youth on probation within the Departmentof Juvenile Services. Recognizing the desire to continue her education and the needfor mental health services in minority communities, Dr. Richardson enrolled in anIntegrative Counseling graduate program. She earned both a Master of Sciencedegree in Pastoral Counseling and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in CounselorEducation and Supervision from Loyola University Maryland. Dr. Richardson is acertified Life Coach, Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and Supervisor, andNational Certified Counselor with more than 10 years of experience in providingcounseling and therapeutic services to adults, adolescents, children, and familiesthat represent various cultures and ethnicities. She specializes in the integration ofmental health and spirituality and focuses on healing the mind, body, and spirit. Herpassion for helping others has led to the work of advocacy and bringing awarenessto the need for mental health and wellness resources in the African Americancommunity as a result of major health disparities. As Mental Health Advocate and Consultant, her aim is to help individuals and communities develop their passion, potential, and purpose while maintaining mental wellness. She currently serves as the Field Placement Coordinator and Counseling Psychology Faculty member at the University of Baltimore.
