Kris Vicencio is an adjunct professor and the Manager of Evening Student and Advocacy Success in the Office of Student Affairs at the University of Baltimore School of Law. His responsibilities include advising and programming for evening students, student wellness initiatives, advising the two law journals, and directing the national mock trial and moot court programs. He also teaches Trial Advocacy and coaches UBalt Law’s mock trial and moot court teams as they prepare for national advocacy competitions.
At the national level, Professor Vicencio serves as Vice President of Trial Advocacy for the National Association of Legal Advocacy Educators. He has presented at national advocacy conferences, including Educating Advocacy Teachers, hosted by Stetson University College of Law, and the Training Advocates Conference, coordinated by Temple University Beasley School of Law.
After law school, Professor Vicencio clerked for the Honorable Richard S. Bernhardt (ret) in the Circuit Court for Howard County, Maryland. He then worked as a staff attorney with Maryland Legal Aid’s Victims Assistance Project in Baltimore, Maryland, where he provided pro bono representation to domestic violence survivors in divorce, custody, and protective order proceedings. Finally, he served as an Assistant State’s Attorney in Anne Arundel County, Maryland, where he established and supervised the office’s Body-Worn Camera Review Unit and prosecuted felony cases. During this period, he also coached mock trial and taught trial advocacy skills at American University Washington College of Law, the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law, and Temple University Beasley School of Law.
Professor Vicencio is a U.S. Air Force veteran. He earned his J.D., cum laude, from American University Washington College of Law in 2018 and is admitted to practice law in Maryland.
