Biography
Savannah Long joined the University of Baltimore faculty in 2021 as the Digital Services & Reference Librarian and transitioned to her current role as Faculty Services & Reference Librarian in the summer of 2024. She manages the UBalt faculty and student scholarship on ScholarWorks and SSRN and teaches courses on legal research and legal technology. Long holds a J.D. from Vanderbilt Law School and a Master’s in Library and Information Sciences from the University of Arizona, where she participated in the Daniel F. Cracchiolo Law Library Fellowship. Her professional background includes work in animal law, environmental law, and disability advocacy. As a former service dog handler, Long’s lived experience with her service dog, Ginny, has significantly shaped her research and advocacy efforts in disability and animal law. She now lives in Baltimore with her partner and their two dogs, Molly and Penny, who enjoy binge-watching TV or quietly reading science fiction and fantasy books with her.
