BiographyDean Gunter joined UBalt Law as assistant dean of admissions and enrollment management
in January 2023 with a decade of experience in higher education.
She began her career in higher education at Spelman College. After leaving Spelman,
Gunter joined the staff at Paul Quinn College, working in student affairs.
Dean Gunter served as an attorney for Lone Star Legal Aid representing survivors of
sexual assault. After completing her grant commitments, Dean Gunter returned to her
alma mater and served as a recruitment coordinator for Texas A&M University School
of Law. She later became the director of admissions and recruitment management for
the University of North Carolina School of Law.
Directly before joining UBalt Law, Dean Gunter was the assistant dean of admissions
at Oklahoma City University School of Law, where she created a high school summer
pipeline program. Dean Gunter has served on several boards and committees helping
create opportunities for the next generation of lawyers. She has presented across
the country at national and regional conferences on topics including career development
and balance, mental health support for students, and pipeline programs.
In her role as assistant dean of admissions at UBalt Law, Dean Gunter oversees and
manages student recruitment and scholarship awards.
