CCJR brought together partners from across the DMV to prepare for Maryland’s upcoming legislative session at the 3rd Annual Criminal Legal Reform Advocates’ Retreat. With 270 registrants, this energizing gathering provided an opportunity to deepen relationships and strengthen the network advancing community-driven, evidence-based policy change across the state and region.
Directly impacted leaders, advocates, organizers, researchers, policy experts, and law students convened at University of Baltimore School of Law to discuss narratives shaping public safety, the impact of the national landscape on reform efforts in Annapolis, and to share updates on priority bills and anticipated defensive fights in the 2026 session. The vision shared by speakers and attendees was deeply inspiring, and the dialogue was rich with opportunities for collaboration and collective action. We are grateful to all who joined us, and looking forward to together delivering more change this year in Maryland!
