Winter Global Field Study
Immersion Dates: January 10-19, 2023
For Graduate and Advanced Undergraduate Students to learn about the dynamics of business in a global setting.
This course exposes interested students to the dynamics of business processes from a global perspective. We have chosen London, England as the centerpiece because of its tradition and growing influence in the emerging global economy. It is one of the world’s most beautiful capitals with an immensely rich cultural heritage and has become the hub and destination of many international companies. The objective of this course is to introduce you to the organizations and people that are making a positive contribution to their specialties and
disciplines by understanding how they operate in a global market environment.

Course Description
This global field study is organized by the Merrick School of Business in conjunction with the University of Essex in Colchester, England. The program features in-depth interactions with companies as well as briefings by business executives and university experts. You will visit local British companies as well as the offices of multinational corporations and will be able to see the challenges and opportunities of global business in one of the most vibrant economies in Great Britain. The lessons you learn will help you impress potential employers and make you a better job prospect. We will also explore the history, economy, and a number of cultural opportunities both in London and in the Colchester area. Visits and contacts will be designed to stimulate intellectual
curiosity and creating academic and practical relevance to one's field of interest.>> All students must be in good academic standing with a minimum 3.2 GPA.
>> Professor Frank van Vliet and Associate Dean Kate Demarest will lead this course.

>> Winter semester; Course dates are January 10-19, 2023. One-week intensive online activities with synchronous and asynchronous expectations.
>> Pre-Course and Post-Course Meetings: There are two required pre and post-course virtual meetings via Zoom. Meetings will be schedule according to group availability.

Cost
Trip costs for airfare, lodging, most local transportation, and trip insurance will be approximately $2,400. Additionally, the Wright Global Scholars fund will provide scholarships up to a maximum of $1,200 to eligible Merrick School of Business
students. A Wright Global Business Scholarship Application is required.In addition to travel costs, normal tuition and fees will apply for this three-credit course for which you will register in the Winter 2023 semester.
