The University of Baltimore's Schaefer Center for Public Policy, in partnership with The Baltimore Banner, WJZ-TV, and WYPR, will host a Baltimore City Mayoral Candidates Forum on April 30. Free and open to the public, it will take place in the Town Hall in the H. Mebane Turner Learning Commons Town Hall.
UBalt's 12th Annual 'Rise to the Challenge' Business Pitch Competition Set for May 2

Judges representing The University of Baltimore’s Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation have selected seven businesses as finalists for the upcoming "Rise to the Challenge" Pitch Competition. The annual event, now in its 12th year, provides an opportunity for members of the greater UBalt community to pitch ideas and concepts for new and existing businesses before a live audience of their peers, supporters and entrepreneurial experts from the Baltimore community. The "Rise to the Challenge" event will take place on May 2.

Bob Parsons, B.S. '75, D.H.L. '08, a Baltimore native, founder of a string of globally successful companies and now a billionaire philanthropist, will return to his alma mater on May 6 for his literary debut, a memoir called Fire in the Hole! Parsons will read from the book, engage in a conversation about its many insights (including his experience as a U.S. Marine fighting in Vietnam), sign copies of the book and meet with attendees at a special reception.
