The Schaefer Center for Public Policy at the University of Baltimore welcomes 30 Baltimore City and three Baltimore County supervisors to Cohort 16 of the Maryland Certified Public Manager Program. Over the next 10 months, these leaders will develop comprehensive, applied management skills needed to meet the complex demands and challenges of the 21st century.

The Maryland Certified Public Manager (CPM) program's mission is to promote excellence in public management by providing comprehensive training in the core competencies of public sector management. The program leverages the expertise of faculty of the College of Public Affairs and practitioners to deliver an academically grounded and job relevant curriculum that promotes cross-sector collaboration and prepares candidates for the work of today and the challenges of tomorrow. The Schaefer Center is the only authorized provider of Certified Public Manager Training in Maryland. The program is accredited by the National Certified Public Manager Consortium and is one of 44 CPM programs across the United States and the
Netherlands.
