A strong stewardship program is critical to a successful advancement operation. The Office of Alumni and Donor Services seeks a highly-motivated, thoughtful communicator to fill its newly-created Donor Relations Coordinator position. The Donor Relations Coordinator reports to the Associate Director of Donor Relations and will assist in developing, implementing, and executing a comprehensive central stewardship program for University of Baltimore Foundation donors. This position will enhance UB’s donor relations efforts by assisting with routine and special acknowledgments and stewardship communications, helping to demonstrate the impact of donor dollars at UB, assisting with cultivation and stewardship events, and accurate data entry. Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Managing the daily acknowledgment process and other routine stewardship communications. This includes ensuring that routine acknowledgements are mailed to donors in a timely manner (preferably within 48 hours of receipt), identifying gifts/donors that require special acknowledgments and assisting in drafting special correspondence, coordinating with the President’s Office, dean’s offices, and program managers on special donor correspondence, and coordinating all acknowledgment efforts with the Gift Processor. Helping to prepare monthly birthday cards, notes of congratulations and condolence, and other routine stewardship communications.
Assisting the Associate Director with initiatives that demonstrate the impact of private dollars to donors. This includes, but is not limited to, assisting with endowment and special impact reports, helping to coordinate thank-you notes from students who have received scholarships, making select appreciation phone calls, identifying specific donors/donor segments and recommending and developing stewardship touches.
Assisting with the planning and execution of a variety of donor cultivation and stewardship events. This includes handling RSVPs, working with vendors and campus colleagues, and working events as assigned.
Ensuring that stewardship activity is accurately recorded in the Raiser’s Edge database. This includes adding special correspondence to individual records, entering event information, and donor updates.
Other duties as assigned.
Some evening and weekend work for special events will be required.
Required Education and Experience
Education: Baccalaureate degree
Experience: One year of experience in direct sales or fundraising or nonprofit or higher education setting, or in a setting where writing or constituent relations was a responsibility.
Preferred Education and Experience
Education: Baccalaureate degree in English, Writing, Communications, or Marketing
Experience: Prior experience in a development/advancement setting, especially donor relations, is preferred.

* Experience with Microsoft Office products. Raiser’s Edge experience, Adobe Creative Suite
experience and experience with other design and publishing software a plus.
