Be a part of the University of Baltimore School of Law’s Law Career Development Office (LCDO) team that helps students and alumni find their career paths. Working under the supervision of the Assistant Dean of Law Career Development, this position provides direct programmatic support to LCDO staff, students, and alumni regarding career development programming, services to students and alumni, and employer relations. This position manages job postings, supports employers posting jobs, coordinates on-campus interview schedules and career fairs, assists with employment data collection, and generally supports the programs of the office. This position also manages event planning, including set up, ordering, and break down, and all components. While the person must be able to do assigned work independently, the position also functions as part of a team to assist where needed for priority work and activities. In addition to being part of the LCDO team, this position has extensive contact with faculty, students and staff. It is a 100% front-facing position that includes external contact with events, employers and the public.

Key Responsibilities
Career Programming Management
• Manages job postings including checking and approving online listings on the law school’s jobs platform, entering new postings, addressing employer questions, and contacting employers as necessary to acquire accurate listing information.
• Assists with planning and coordinating job search and career-related student programming including Fall/Spring On-Campus Interview programs and Career Fairs programs, which includes creating on-campus interview sessions and schedules for Spring/Fall on-campus and off-campus interview programs, or online recruiting programs. Coordinates interviews and conveys schedules to students and employers. Serves as the logistical point of contact for students and employers participating in the LCDO’s interview programs, career fairs and sponsored employment events. Responds to inquiries and confirms registrations.
• Coordinates a comprehensive calendar of employer recruiting visits and career-related programs, maintains employer and student recruiting data, and generates recruitment reports.
• Assists with publicizing employer visits and professional development programs to students, facilitating involvement in career activities geared to enhance their job-search results.
• Assists in formulating the content and distributing the office’s weekly newsletter to students.
• Assists in the management and maintenance of the online career management system, including up-to-date and accurate employer information and job postings.
• Assists with accurate collection of employment data to report to the ABA and NALP.
• Provides administrative support to students and alumni applying to state and federal clerkships, including updating the judicial spreadsheets for clerkships/internships and posting those opportunities.
• Acts as first line of contact for students and employers.
• Tracks and maintains the LCDO’s subscription services and memberships to ensure that they are current.
• Assists with developing the office budget and tracking spending.
• Other duties as assigned to ensure the smooth operation of the LCDO and career development programs.
Event Planning and Execution
• Collects detailed information about event.
• Contact vendors for quotes, including catering.
• Manage all administrative tasks related to events
• Manage the law school calendar for events and RSVPs, etc.
• Update web pages with information as is appropriate
• Make internal event requests, such as booking space, set-up, and AV requirements
• Conduct post-mortem for event upon completion
• Document all event plans in appropriate digital file
General Law School Support
• Assist in commencement
• Attend monthly staff meetings
• Performing administrative tasks for Career Development Faculty Committee
• Involvement in staff committees and events – e.g. service day, annual staff retreat, staff development
• Proctoring exams
Required Education and Experience
Education: Bachelor's degree
Experience: Two (2) years administrative or program coordination experience. Additional related experience and formal education in which one has gained the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for full performance of the work of the job class may be substituted for the education or experience requirement on a year-for-year basis with 30 college credits being equivalent to one year of experience.
Preferred Experience
Experience in career development work or in the legal or educational field.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Ability to prepare financial statements and budgets.
• Proficiency in the entire Microsoft Office Suite (Including but not limited to calendaring software, word (including track changes and mail merges and labeling), excel, Publisher, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint), Adobe Acrobat, Google forms and Google Docs, Canva or other graphic design programs, and previous experience updating websites and basic web updating skills.
• General knowledge of and skill in the practical application of generally accepted office practices and procedures.
• Ability to work independently under minimal supervision.
• Skill in exercising initiative, resourcefulness, and sound judgment with an ability to solve problems and make decisions independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
• Ability to proofread and edit written documents
• Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.
• Proficiency with databases and online resources including career services databases.
• Ability to interact effectively with internal and external parties in a courteous and efficient manner.
• Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and execute multiple and continuing assignments with general instructions.
• Ability to manage self-improvement to increase knowledge of the evolving digital work place.
• Discretion and judgment in dealing with students’ confidential information and other sensitive matters.
