    Heeseung Lee

    Director, Undergraduate Admission

    Hometown: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

    Favorite thing about Baltimore:
My favorite place to wander around in the UB neighborhood is the 136-year-old Peabody Library, which has five-tiered ornamental balconies filled with old books.

    Favorite thing about UB:
My favorite place on the UB campus is the Liberal Arts and Policy Building with its glorious spiral staircase, original Moravian tile floors, radiant stained-glass window and state-of-the-art design lab.

Why you do what you do:
As an admission director, I love witnessing students we’ve enrolled graduate. It is a magical moment watching friends and family cheer on graduates as they move from hard-working students to capable professionals.

    Michael Campitelli

    Assistant Director, Undergraduate Admission

    Hometown: Westminster, Maryland

    Favorite thing about Baltimore:
As a history buff, I love the rich historic and cultural traditions that Baltimore has to offer—you can’t walk down the street without seeing it, whether it’s in the architecture, the museums or the many unique neighborhoods that make up the city.

    Favorite thing about UB:
UB is incredibly diverse! But not just in a way that is only skin deep. We have students from different cultures, states and walks of life that really enrich the campus and classroom.

Why you do what you do:
Deciding where to attend college is one of the most important decisions a person will make in their young adult life. The opportunity to be a part of that process a really rewarding experience.

    Favorite thing about Baltimore:
Growing up in Baltimore, I have always loved the festivals—especially Artscape, which is held annually right here on UB’s campus.

    Favorite thing about UB:
I love the convenience of the campus. It’s in the heart of the city and with the MARC train [near] campus, I am able to easily travel to Washington, D.C., Philadelphia and even New York City.

Why you do what you do:
The best part about my job is that I get to travel and meet new people.

    Jessica O’Keefe

    Admission Counselor, Undergraduate Admission

    Hometown: Columbia, Maryland

    Favorite thing about Baltimore:
My favorite thing about Baltimore is that there is always so much to do. I love catching an O's game at Camden Yards, playing beach volleyball at Rash Field in the Inner Harbor and viewing the lights on 34th Street during the holidays. There is always something fun to be a part of.

    Favorite thing about UB:
My favorite thing at UB is when students decorate the Edgar Allan Poe statue in Gordon Plaza. I love coming out of the Academic Center and seeing him wearing a baseball cap and sunglasses or a cap and gown.

Why you do what you do:
The best part of my job is meeting new students every day and helping them to achieve their goal of getting a college degree.
