The Bob Parsons Veterans Center
Mission
The Bob Parsons Veterans Center aims to champion the success of veterans and military members at the University of Baltimore by providing purposeful opportunities for growth and excellence for our students, staff and faculty. We aim to support military and veteran students in their transitions to and through the university, from preparing students for college success to prosperity in meaningful careers and lives. Through substantive, transparent conversations about military service, and thoughtful partnerships throughout the university, our goal is to keep the University at the vanguard of what it means to be a 'military-friendly' institution.
Vision
We envision a university that celebrates a diverse understanding of service members, veterans and their families, offers unparalleled support by providing a nurturing and guiding environment that meets the students’ personal, professional and academic goals, and empowers them to continue serving as active members and leaders of local, national and global communities.
General Updates
By the Numbers
- 353* Self-identified veterans are currently enrolled at UBalt
- 108 of these veterans are new students
- 37 veteran students graduated in fall 2018
- 45 veteran students are expected to graduated in spring 2019
*We believe there are significantly more veteran affiliated students than this, but due to the fact that veterans self identify in the enrollment process, we are only able to count those that choose to do so.
New Strategic Plan
This year, the Director of the Bob Parsons Veterans Center was tasked with drafting and implementing a new Strategic Plan, to better position the Center as a resource for current students and more effectively utilize the Center to attract new veteran students to the University of Baltimore. The Strategic Plan has currently been implemented and supports our plan through 2022. The Center will use it as a guide for its operations and resources.
