Ian M. Davis, B.A. '09 English
Staying connected to UBalt is an easy choice for this UBalt grad.
From spending time back in the classroom to making an annual gift, Ian Davis, B.A. '09, is reinvigorated with the same pride he felt attending UBalt when he sees the impact he is having on current students.
"Staying connected to UBalt through a yearly gift has given me many wonderful opportunities to continue my UBalt experience after graduation," Davis explains. "UB is more than my alma mater, it has continued to be a significant part of my community."
Davis served as an alumni speaker through the Backpack to Briefcase program, a program designed to bring alumni back into the classroom to share their experiences and career advice with students.
Davis earned his Bachelor of Arts in English, and since graduating, he has taught English in both public and private schools.
"My UBalt education has been instrumental in my subsequent professional career as an English teacher," says Davis. As an advocate for the UBalt experience, he has been volunteering in another unique way as well – recommending high school students to attend his alma mater.
"UB is an excellent state university that somehow provides its students with a small, liberal arts, private school experience," says Davis. "I have seen how students that I have recommended to UBalt have been accepted and given support, scholarships, and a meaningful college education. That is why I continue to give back to the University of Baltimore."
You can impact current UBalt students, too. Join Ian Davis and make your annual gift to UBalt online at ubalt.edu/support.
