Isaac "Yitzy" Schleifer, B.S. '13
Councilman, Baltimore City Council
I am Baltimore City Councilman Isaac "Yitzy" Schleifer. I earned my degree from the University of Baltimore Merrick School of Business while also starting up my own software company, Raffle Ready. Raffle Ready works exclusively with nonprofits to automate their online fundraising, helping them save time and raise more money.
During my time at UBalt, I found political science to be my favorite class and used that passion to drive me towards my current position on the Baltimore City Council. I was the first place winner of the 1st Startup Maryland Business Pitch Competition at UBalt.
I have always demonstrated a passionate interest in the well-being and betterment of the community and I've received numerous awards and recognition for my community service.
I currently serve on the board of directors of the Hebrew Free Loan Association and Suburban Synagogue. My past activism included serving as the vice president of the Cheswolde Neighborhood Association, board member of the Myerberg Senior Center, Red Cross Young Professionals and the United States Coast Guard Auxilary. Since being appointed by the Baltimore City State's Attorney in 2014 to serve as her liaison to Northwest Baltimore, I have been credited for helping to secure convictions on criminal cases.
