Our dynamic, collaborative VP/CFO integrates vision, strategy and activities to move UB’s financial portfolio forward while engaging an entrepreneurial orientation and willingness to take considered risks and seize opportunities. Serving on the Executive Team, the VP/CFO collaborates with University leadership implementing strategic plan priorities and enhances success of academic, research and community programs and services by developing business systems improvement processes, economic impact, and UB’s fiscal focus. The VP/CFO responsibilities encompass university strategy; financial and business affairs; real estate and facilities management; human resources; information technology; safety and security; and other administrative services.
The Executive Assistant works closely with the VP/CFO and proactively participates as a member of the Administration and Finance leadership team. While playing a critical role in managing the administrative aspects of the office, strong emphasis is on coordinating communications in service to our commitment to faculty, staff, students and our surrounding community.
The Executive Assistant functions with independence and anticipates what is needed in a variety of situations. He or she will regularly interact with the University's senior level administrators, faculty, staff, and students, as well as external individuals including University System of Maryland (USM) representatives, leaders at other universities and professional organizations, business executives, and members of the community on behalf of the VP/CFO and that office. To be successful, the Executive Assistant must be results-oriented and be effective in prioritizing and managing workflow, and coordinating and cooperating with others to facilitate completion of goals and priority deliverables established by the VP/CFO in support of UB. The Executive Assistant independently exercises judgment in applying university policies and practices in varied and complex situations. Combines high anticipatory skills with strong detail orientation and organization to anticipate, prioritize, and act cooperatively with others to support the VP/CFO and her office. Demonstrated ability to respond to all situations in a calm and professional manner. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
• Coordinate the VP/CFO calendar, prepare VP/CFO for all meetings and scheduled events, and assist with distribution, coordination and completion of follow up work from meetings.
• Support completion of goals and priority deliverables by the VP/CFO by creating and implementing a structured approach to work flow and communications.
• Coordinate or lead administrative projects and processes for the VP/CFO.
Required Education and Experience
Education: Baccalaureate degree in Business, Finance, or other related field or discipline that supports success in performance of position responsibilities.
Experience: Five years serving in a progressively responsible and professional administrative/coordinator role supporting a senior or executive level leader. Strong communications background.
Preferred Education and Experience
Education: Master’s degree in Business, Finance, or other related field or discipline that supports success in performance of position responsibilities.
Experience: Seven years serving in a progressively responsible and professional administrative/coordinator role supporting a senior or executive level finance leader.
