
The University of Baltimore School of Law celebrated two standout community members whose leadership and service continue to strengthen both the institution and the broader Baltimore region.
Associate Dean for Administration Joy Gaslevic has been awarded the University of Baltimore Staff Recognition Award for Exceptional Contribution to the Mission of the University. Gaslevic’s influence reaches every corner of UBalt Law. She led the development of the 2025–2030 Strategic Plan through a highly inclusive process, bringing together faculty, staff, students, and alumni to shape a shared and forward-looking vision. Colleagues across campus describe her as a trusted partner and a thoughtful problem-solver whose steady leadership and deep commitment to the law school drive meaningful progress.
Aubrey Edwards-Luce, Executive Director of the Sayra and Neil Meyerhoff Center for Families, Children, and the Courts (CFCC), has been honored with the Staff Award for Extraordinary Public Service to UBalt and the Greater Community. Edwards-Luce’s work extends far beyond campus, influencing children, families, and communities throughout Baltimore and Maryland. Her portfolio includes leadership in chronic absenteeism prevention, youth justice, child welfare reform, legislative advocacy, and trauma-informed education. She is widely recognized for her strategic vision, compassion, and ability to bring together diverse stakeholders to advance equity and justice.
