Over the years, several School of Business faculty participated in the well-known international exchange called the Fulbright Program. We recognize their efforts to teach and conduct research, exchange ideas and contribute to finding solutions around the world.
The Fulbright Program is the flagship international educational exchange program sponsored by the U.S. government and is designed to “increase mutual understanding between the people of the United States and the people of other countries.” With this goal as a starting point, the Fulbright Program has provided almost 300,000 participants—chosen for their academic merit and leadership potential.
Veena Adlakha is a professor emertia of operations management. She worked on her Fulbright
grant from 1999-2000.
Seema Iyer, Ph.D., former Associate Director of the Jacob France Institute and Research
Assistant Professor She was the 2017 Fulbright-Nehru Fellow in Bangalore, India. She
has expertise in urban planning and uses open data sources to guide her research into
how to make economic impacts in the community.
Dr. Iyer accepted a position in 2022 as the Senior Director, The Hive, USA for UNHCR.
David Lingelbach is a professor of management. He conducted his Fulbright research
in 2019 on "Making Sense of Entrepreneurship in a Transition in Burma (Myanmar)" at
the Yangon University of Economics. He was also selected to serve as a Fulbright Specialist
at Universidad Nacional de Colombia. He will be helping them to design and implement
a university-centered entrepreneurial ecosystem both in Bogota and at their satellite
campus in Manizales.
Tigi Mersha is a professor emeritus of management. He conducted his Fulbright research
in 2010 on social enterprise and service quality in Ethiopia.
Christine Nielsen is professor emerita of international business and strategy. She
was the 2007 Fulbright-SyCip Distinguished Lecturer in the Philippines, the first
woman to receive this Award.
Ven Sriram is a professor of marketing. He has been a Fulbright Scholar in Nepal and
Turkey.
