There are opportunities for qualified design students to manage the Klein Family School of Communications Design’s Digital Design Studio (DDS). As a DDS Assistant, you will support users working in graphic design and production-related software programs, manage the sales and traffic of print jobs, operate the mounter/lamination machine, and otherwise run the facilities. This is an excellent opportunity to gain technical experience in areas you may not otherwise have access to, and to immerse yourself in learning hardware and software applications that you may not have been able to devote time to during the semester.
The hours for this position (typically 12 or 20 hours per week) are arranged according to
your schedule. Graduate assistants receive full tuition remission with a stipend,
and student assistants receive $14 per hour. (*NOTE: While DDS graduate assistantships
are open to any UBalt student, first priority is given to existing DDS student assistants.)
Ideal candidates will have a solid working knowledge in using the Adobe Creative
Cloud family of products in a Macintosh OS X environment, a design background, have
some HTML and CSS skills, and should have a friendly and outgoing demeanor. Final
Cut Pro X software and audio software experience a plus.
Interested students should email David Patschke with a resume, portfolio (if you have one) and letter of interest at dpatschke@ubalt.edu.
