B.A. in Multimedia Storytelling*

 

Be more than a creator, become a master storyteller. The Bachelor of Arts in Multimedia Storytelling* is a humanities-based interdisciplinary undergraduate program like no other. It combines narrative theory and analysis with visual design, digital media production, and professional and creative writing.

 

In our Bachelor of Arts program, you'll:

  • Master the art of storytelling across platforms
  • Create professional content that integrates words, images, and video
  • Develop expertise in visual design, digital production, and creative writing
  • Analyze how narratives shape culture, business, and human connection
  • Adapt your creative voice to diverse audiences and evolving technologies

Our students work in corporate media departments, for nonprofits and for conglomerates, in PR firms and in ad agencies. They design events and promotions, and they graduate understanding not only how to create the product but how to target an audience and make the clients’ voices heard.

How it works

Build your foundation with seven (24-credit) core courses that teach you how to integrate words, images, and video to tell compelling stories across platforms. You'll explore storytelling theory, design principles, multimedia production, creative and professional writing,and cross-platform communication while developing the essential skills every multimedia storyteller needs.

Then choose your specialization: Select 18 credits in Media Design and Production, Creative Writing and Publishing, or Public Relations and Social Media based on your creative interests and career goals.

Media Design and Production

Ready to create stories that captivate? The Media Design and Production concentration is perfect for visual storytellers who want to master both craft and career. Dive into courses like The Art of Film and The Business of Being an Artist, and graduate ready to produce professional storytelling content across any platform!

Creative Writing and Publishing

Transform your passion for writing into a career! The Creative Writing and Publishing concentration lets you develop your craft across multiple literary genres while learning the business of bringing stories to readers. From workshop-style courses to hands-on publishing projects, you'll build both the creative skills and professional expertise to succeed as a writer, editor, or literary entrepreneur!

Public Relations and Social Media

Shape how brands connect with audiences! The PR and Social Media concentration blends production, design, marketing, and professional writing to give you the complete skillset today's employers demand. Master digital and global marketing through social media, create brand identity campaigns, and learn to work with AI tools transforming the professional writing workplace. Build your expertise and launch your career in PR, social media management, or content strategy!
