Business Consulting Services (BCS)

The Business Consulting Services (BCS) practice is a cornerstone of the Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation. We offer high-quality, competitively priced services in seven key areas, which represent the nexus between fields of study offered at UB and the major needs of the regional business community:

  1. Market Research & Analysis
  2. Marketing & Promotion
  3. Digital Media & Technology Innovation
  4. Problem Solving & Conflict Management
  5. Real Estate Development
  6. Finance & Accounting
  7. Strategic Planning

The BCS Leadership Team recruits, vets, trains, and deploys consultants to provide services to family and closely-held firms, start-ups, and non-profits. By blending academic learning, for-profit consulting, and public-service, this dynamic practice presents an exceptional value proposition. Students enhance their professional skills, small business receive high-quality consulting services at reasonable rates, and the University of Baltimore serves the public by improving local business communities, enhancing community economic development, and growing Baltimore’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.

The BCS talent pool includes students from all four UB schools, creating a robust interdisciplinary consulting practice. By engaging consulting assignments, students employ knowledge that works—incorporating theory from finance, marketing, digital communication, conflict management, business law, or publications design, among other fields.

Through the professional oversight of the BCS Leadership Team, Junior Consultants receive direction that bridges the gap between classroom learning and real-world practice; Senior Consultants benefit by broadening their portfolio of experience as they navigate diverse consulting assignments. Overall, the BCS practice encompasses a dynamic range of activities resulting in a vibrant enterprise that benefits students, the University, and the business community.
