Starting April 6, 2019, PeopleSoft runs Tools version 8.56, which is the layer of PeopleSoft that allows for development, support and security of each PeopleSoft application. This upgrade introduced changes to the look and navigation of each PeopleSoft application, except for the MyUB Portal.
The questions and answers below will acquaint you with the changes.
General

What is changing?
When you log on to PeopleSoft, the changes will be to the look and feel. This newer version introduced a fluid interface, allowing the display to scale for any device. The visual changes include:
- Header links have moved to other locations and look different.
- Navigation breadcrumbs no longer exist.
- A new NavBar (compass icon) on the right hand side of the screen.
- Navigation tiles on the navigation home page.

Why do I not see the breadcrumbs?
PeopleSoft is migrating to a new mobile-friendly user interface (responsive design). The Navigator Icon within the NavBar (compass icon) replaces the breadcrumb navigation.

Where are my favorites?
You can access your favorites two ways:
- Click the NavBar icon (a compass) on the top, right menu bar.
- When in classic home view, click My Favorites on the left menu.
- Click the NavBar icon (a compass) on the top, right menu bar.

How do I add favorites?
- Navigate to the page you want to favorite.
- Click the Actions List icon, located in the upper right corner.
- Click Add to Favorites.

What are the banner icons?
- Home - this brings you to the home page.

Action List Menu (three, vertical dots) displays the following menu items:
- Add to Homepage, Add to NavBar, Add to Favorites. This will add the current page to the selected destination.
- My Preferences.
- Sign out.

Compass (NavBar) provides the following items:
- Recent Places: displays the most recent pages you viewed.
- My Favorites: displays pages you added as favorites, including those you saved prior to the upgrade.
- Navigator: displays the traditional menu structure. You can use this page to access pages that are not including in any of the navigation tiles.
- Classic Home: takes you to the classic PeopleSoft interface.

What are tiles?
A tile represents a Navigation Collection. This is a grouping of similar pages and components accessible through that tile.
- A left-side navigation of the grouping will appear, which will remain displayed while you navigate to the different pages in the collection and can speed up your experience with moving around in PeopleSoft.
- If you need to request a new tile/navigation collection, submit a request form, indicating the PeopleSoft application (CS, FN, HR).

How do I get back to the Classic view?
You can go to the NavBar (compass icon) and select Classic Home, or click on the Classic Home tile.

How do I sign out of PeopleSoft?
- Click the Actions List icon (three, vertical dots).
- Select Sign Out.

What is the default home page?

Will “My Faculty Center” change?
No. This will look exactly the same as before.

What is the default homepage?
The new navigation home page.

Can I use the Classic view?
Yes, either go to the NavBar (compass icon) and select Classic Home or click on the Classic Home tile.

Are there easier ways to navigate?
Several Homepages have been created to assist Navigation, including one for Business Managers and one for each of the main Administration and Finance offices: UBO, Procurement and Comptroller.
To select one of those Homepages:- Click the Actions List icon (3 vertical dots) in the upper right corner.
- From the list, select Personalize Homepage.
- Click the Add Homepage button.
- Select the appropriate homepage from the list shown.The screen will display the tiles in that homepage.
- Click the green Save button.
Your new homepage will now be displayed. Each square on the homepage is a Tile, and each tile takes you to a group of related pages or folders. These are called Navigation Collections.
When viewing a Navigation Collection, the list of items will display on the left side, making it easy to switch between pages.
