M.F.A. Faculty Reading Opens Spring Reading Series, Feb. 21

Members of the University of Baltimore's faculty in the M.F.A. in Creative Writing & Publishing Arts program will open the University's 2011 Spring Reading Series on Monday, Feb. 21, at 7 p.m. in the UB Student Center's Bogomolny Room, 21 W. Mt. Royal Ave. The event is free and open to the public.
Faculty members Jane Delury, Kendra Kopelke, Steve Matanle, Valzhyna Mort and Marion Winik will offer an evening of "poetic confession and fictional truth."
The Spring Reading Series is presented by the M.F.A. in Creative Writing & Publishing Arts in the University of Baltimore's School of Communications Design and sponsored by the Hearst Visiting Scholars Fund and the Klein Family Fund. Upcoming events in the series include:
- Jessica Blau, author of The Summer of Naked Swim Parties, in a reading and book signing; Blau will be joined by her literary agent, Joanne Brownstein Jarvi - Monday, March 14, 7 p.m.
- Nick Flynn, award-winning author of Another Bullshit Night in Suck City, reading from his non-fiction and poetry - Wednesday, April 6, 7 p.m.
- M.F.A. Student Reading and Publication Party - Friday, May 6, 7:30 p.m., held in the Student Center Performing Arts Theater
- Welter Reading and Publication Party - Thursday, May 12, 7 p.m.
All events will be held in the Bogomolny Room unless otherwise indicated.
