Tips for Easing Parking: Avoid the Lines
If you are parking in UB's Maryland Avenue Garage, you can avoid the line—or at least reduce the amount of time you spend in it—by following some of these tips:
- There are multiple alternatives to parking in the Maryland Avenue Garage. UB-dedicated parking spaces are located in Symphony Center, Meyerhoff and Belvedere garages. Plus, there are multiple surface parking lots accessible to the UB community in the area. View student parking locations, employee parking locations and our campus parking map.
- The Maryland Avenue Garage has two entrances: one on Maryland Avenue and the other on Cathedral Street. If there is a line to get into the garage on the Maryland Avenue side, turn right on Chase Street (the next intersection) and then turn right on Cathedral Street. This will also give you access to the Cathedral Street Lot, another alternative if the garage is crowded.
- Pedestrians should avoid using vehicle entrances and exits at any of our garages. You can use your parking access card to gain entrance to the Maryland Avenue Garage via the door on Biddle Street. Also, the pedestrian entrance/exits at the Symphony Center Garage are on the Park Avenue side, right next to the vehicle lanes.
Haven’t signed up for your parking access card yet? Do so now to avoid having to pay cash; it's more convenient.
For your convenience, ATMs are located on the first floor of the UB Student Center and the Academic Center, as well as at banks on nearby North Charles Street and in area businesses.
