Accessibility Standards We Follow

  • WCAG 2.1 AA minimum is the baseline standard for UBalt website content and navigation.
  • Equal access means our site should be usable by people with diverse abilities and assistive technologies.
  • Ongoing improvement keeps our website current through regular review, remediation, and stakeholder accountability.

What Web Content Editors Should Do

  • Use accessible headings to organize page structure and support screen reader navigation.
  • Write descriptive link text that clearly identifies the destination or action.
  • Provide meaningful alt text for images and visual content.
  • Add captions and transcripts for audio and video media when available.
  • Ensure PDFs are accessible before uploading them to the website.
  • Remove unnecessary files and outdated documents to reduce barriers.
  • Test pages before publishing to catch issues early.

Monitoring & Continuous Improvement

  • Monsido weekly scans review website pages for accessibility and quality issues.
  • Broken links are identified and fixed as part of the monitoring process.
  • Accessibility scans combine automated checks with manual review.
  • School and department reporting helps local teams raise issues and support remediation.
  • Accountability model ensures issues are tracked and resolved by the appropriate owners.

We Are committed to equal access to web content
