About Spirit Week
The University of Baltimore was founded in 1925 as a private institution by Baltimore civic leaders who wanted to provide affordable, part-time education in business, government and law for working adults. UB opened for its first classes on October 1, 1925. Spirit Week is the celebration of UB and its nearly 100 years of history in serving Baltimore.
In fall 2017, the Governance Steering Council passes a resolution declaring the first week of October UB Spirit Week in observance of the first day of classes on October 1, 1925.
