Thank you for supporting the Merrick School of Business
One of the best features about the Merrick School of Business is the alumni. With more than 25,000 alumni and 80 percent living in the area, our students have the opportunity to network and learn from some of the best business leaders. In addition to our alumni, we have strong ties with many local corporations.
Our alumni and friends invest to help our students, faculty and programs. They give both time and treasure to the School. As a matter of fact, many of our programs would be jeopardized without the generosity of the alumni and corporate friends.
In 2006, the School of Business launched the "Merrick After Five" networking event in conjunction with the Merrick Alumni Network. This program invites alumni to the headquarters of local businesses for corporate strategy discussions and networking opportunites. The program has received positive feedback from both the alumni and sponsoring corporations.
"Merrick After Five" is just one opportunity to come back to UB. Alumni and friends give back by being mentors to students, becoming guest lecturers and joining the executive and entrepreneurs in residence program. They also attend our events and special programs throughout the year. Some of the major events held each year are the Alumni of the Year ceremony, the Athletic Hall of Fame gathering, and, of course, the Distinguished Entrepreneur Awards.
