The Executive Director oversees and guides the operations of the Sayra and Neil Meyerhoff Center for Families, Children and the Courts (CFCC), including all programs. In collaboration with the CFCC Faculty Director and with their own expertise in legal issues that affect families, the Executive Director will conduct strategic planning to determine the direction and initiatives for the Center. The Executive Director will oversee CFCC budget and grant initiatives. The Executive Director will also oversee CFCC personnel to determine staff assignments based upon requirements of grant-funded initiatives and collaborate and lead development and strategic planning initiatives for CFCC. The Executive Director will promote and enhance the marketability, credibility, and stature of CFCC, develop collaborative relationships with funders and other partners at the national, state, and local levels. The Executive Director, in conjunction with the CFCC Faculty Director, will lead CFCC staff and students in research, scholarship and strategic initiatives. The Executive Director will work with community partners and families impacted by legal systems to develop and engage in supportive strategies and programs including legislative advocacy. The Executive Director will also work with staff to provide technical assistance on programs, projects and reports that affect families.

Key Responsibilities:
+ Supervision and oversight. Oversee and manage the staff and operations of the CFCC, including the Truancy Court Program (TCP) and involvement of law students in CFCC work. Working with Administration, oversee CFCC budget and finances.
+ Fundraising and grant initiatives. Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with funders and other partners at the national, state, and local levels. Working with staff, research, develop, and write CFCC grant proposals and grant reports to maintain and grow CFCC funding.
+ Partnerships and strategic planning. In conjunction with CFCC Faculty Director, develop and implement strategic initiatives and partnerships that position CFCC as a thought leader on identified issues in legal issues that affect families. Work with community partners and families impacted by legal systems to develop and engage in supportive strategies and programs including legislative advocacy.
+ Communications, marketing, and training. Oversee the drafting and production of CFCC publications and media submissions, including maintaining a robust social media presence. Develop training syllabi and materials for CFCC’s projects, conferences, symposia, and trainings for judges, court personnel, attorneys, law students, and other interested constituents.
Required Education and Experience: Juris Doctorate. Five years of experience in the practice of family law or advocacy, expertise in legal issues that affect families including but not limited to juvenile justice, child welfare, disability, education law, and experience with grant writing and reporting.
Preferred Experience: Supervisory experience, including working with law students. Policy or legislative experience.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Extensive experience in the areas of family law, juvenile justice, disability, education law or child welfare.
Grant writing and reporting experience.
Excellent research and writing skills, including a record of publications. Ability to undertake legal research and produce legal scholarship.
Public speaking experience and teaching experience (or other experience working with students) preferred.
Knowledge of and familiarity with family court systems, processes, and procedures.
Ability to identify potential funding opportunities and to develop and implement extensive grant proposals and grant reports.
Ability to develop and implement presentations and workshops for judges, attorneys, law students, and conference audiences.
