Institutional Research

What We Do

The Office of Institutional Effectiveness coordinates the University’s planning, assessment, accreditation and institutional research efforts through the following specific, skilled functions:

  • The Office completes institutional research reporting for external stakeholders such as IPEDS, USM, and MHEC.  The OIE supports reporting by other campus units to their external stakeholders, i.e. compliance reporting.
  • The OIE promotes proactive reporting and advances collaborative and creative analysis of institutional data among campus stakeholders, i.e. internal data requests.
  • The OIE supports the infusion of institutional data within the university’s operations, decision-making, assessment and accreditation processes, prioritizing closing the loop efforts.
  • The OIE in collaboration with CELTT coordinates and supports assessment and accreditation efforts by academic and non-academic units.

The University of Baltimore is committed to continuous quality improvement through planning, research and assessment.

The University continually evaluates its effectiveness, providing the University community with data and analyses to inform planning, to guide decision-making, to improve student learning and to advance UBalt's efforts to achieve its mission and goals.
