The following students from the School of Law have been appointed as Legal Writing Fellows for the 2025-26 academic year. Feel free to ask for them when scheduling an appointment with the Legal Writing Center.


Erin Daneker

Erin Daneker is a fourth-year evening student who graduated from St. Mary’s College of Maryland in 2016 with a double major in political science and public policy. She currently works full-time as a Senior Policy Analyst at the National Governors Association. Erin served as the Publications Editor for Law Review Vol. 54, and a Staff Editor for Vol. 53. After graduation, Erin will be clerking for a justice on the Supreme Court of Maryland.

 

Before law school, Daneker spent six years working in Maryland’s Governor’s Office, where she held numerous roles, including deputy legislative officer and liaison to the Board of Public Works. She became a writing fellow to help students adjust to and excel in legal writing and become more confident writers.

 


Alexa Thomas

Alexa Thomas is a 3L day student who graduated from Stevenson University with a B.S. in Legal Studies. Alexa spent her 1L summer working as a law clerk for Silverman Thompson Slutkin White, LLC, and her 2L summer as a summer associate at McGuireWoods LLP. Alexa will be externing in the fall with the Office of the Public Defender for Howard County.

 

In addition to serving as a legal writing fellow, Alexa is an Associate Managing Editor for the University of Baltimore Law Review and a competitor on the University of Baltimore Mock Trial Team. Alexa has served as a teaching assistant and law scholar for Introduction to Lawyering Skills with Professor Jaros, Introduction to Advocacy with Professor Esworthy, Constitutional Law I with Professor Wehle, and Contracts I with Professor Ziaja.

 

After utilizing the Legal Writing Center to help her build confidence and become a successful legal writer during her first year of law school, Alexa hopes to help other students replicate that success and become strong legal writers and advocates.

 


Melissa Bosley 

Melissa Bosley is a third-year evening student who graduated summa cum laude from Stevenson University with a B.S. In Legal Studies. As a third-year student, she serves as a Production Editor for the University of Baltimore's Law Review and a law scholar for Professor Higginbotham's Constitutional Law I. In addition to law school, Bosley works as the Executive Paralegal at Jim Rutledge Esq LLC located in Bel Air, Maryland.

 

Before law school, Bosley worked as a paralegal for Mr. Rutledge for four years where she was inspired to attend law school. She became a legal writing fellow after having impactful experiences with her legal mentors and hopes to pass the knowledge she gathered from those mentors to the legal writers who come to her appointments.

 


Taylor Ward

Taylor Ward is a fourth-year evening student who graduated from Florida State University in 2019 with a B.S. in Psychology and Criminology. She has spent the entirety of her law school career working full-time as a law clerk for the Special Victims Unit of the Baltimore City State's Attorney's Office, where she assists in preparing complex cases for trial. This experience has strengthened her ability to craft clear, persuasive legal arguments and to write with precision under tight deadlines. As a Legal Writing Fellow, she is eager to share these skills and support other students in developing confidence and excellence in their legal writing.

 


Mumtahina (Tahi) Tabassum

Mumtahina Tabassum is a 3L day student who graduated from the University of Maryland, with a B.S. in Family Science, in 2022. As a third-year student, Tabassum serves as Publications Editor for the University of Baltimore’s Law Review and as a returning teaching assistant for Professor Carsten's Introduction to Lawyering Skills class.

 

This past summer, she worked as a summer associate for Semmes Bowen & Semmes, in Baltimore, Maryland. Tabassum became a writing fellow to help students overcome legal writing issues and build confidence in their writing abilities.

 


Ellie Roser

Ellie Roser is a 3L day student who graduated from Furman University with a B.A. in Communication Studies and Coastal Carolina University with a M.B.A. The summer after her 1L year, Ellie worked as a judicial intern for the Honorable Laura S. Ripken on the Appellate Court of Maryland. In addition to serving as a writing fellow, Ellie is an Associate Comments Editor for the University of Baltimore Law Review. This summer, Ellie worked as a summer associate at Miles & Stockbridge in the Litigation Practice Group, where she will return post-graduation after completing a clerkship. Ellie became a writing fellow to help classmates grow in their writing abilities. 

 


Vincent Bedessem

Vincent Bedessem is a 3L day student who graduated from Towson University with a B.S. in Business Administration and a concentration in Legal Studies, as well as a minor in Japanese Language. After graduating from Towson, he worked as an accountant for two years before returning to Baltimore to attend law school. In addition to serving as a legal writing fellow, Vincent is a research assistant to Professor Easton and has served as a teaching assistant for Professor Wherry’s Introduction to Lawyering Skills class. Vincent currently works as a Law Clerk for Rollins, Smalkin, Richards & Mackie. He became a legal writing fellow primarily to help 1L students transition more comfortably into the legal writing process.

 


Morgane Barry

Morgane Barry is a fourth-year evening student at the University of Baltimore School of Law and shares the role as Articles Editor for Law Forum. Originally from Raleigh, North Carolina, Morgane graduated cum laude from North Carolina State University in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science in Fashion and Textile Management and a minor in Art and Design. She now resides in Rockville, Maryland, and works full time as a title agent at Legacy Settlement Services. At the University of Baltimore, Morgane served as President of the Real Estate Law Association and her legal experience includes internships with the Honorable Judge Karen Ferretti of the Montgomery County District Court, in-house counsel at The Donohoe Companies, Inc., and the law firm Batoff Associates , P.A. Most recently, Morgane clerked at McNees Wallace & Nurick LLC in its real estate practice group and will continue working with the firm throughout the school year. Morgane expects to graduate in May 2026 and has accepted an offer to join McNees as an Associate, following the bar exam.

 


Jacob Rabinovich

Jacob Rabinovich is a 3L day student who graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park with a B.S. in Supply Chain Management and International Business. During his 1L summer, Jacob gained valuable legal experience as a law clerk for Posner and Cord, LLC in Lutherville, Maryland. He continued to build on this experience as an extern during the Fall semester of his 2L year. As a Summer Associate at Davis, Agnor, Rapaport, and Skalny, Jacob spent the Summer of 2025 conducting intensive research on a variety of legal topics and subsequently transforming the results of his research into informative internal memos and persuasive motions. In addition, Jacob also contributed to the legal community as a Staff Editor for the University of Baltimore’s Law Review. He will continue his tenure with Law Review as an Associate Comments Editor. In this new role, Jacob will mentor Staff Editors through their legal academic writing journey. Throughout his 1L year, Jacob sought the assistance of the Legal Writing Center, which enhanced his ability to articulate complex legal concepts. his experience taught Jacob important lessons, such as organization's contribution to clarity and cogency, and he is eager to pass them on to his peers as a Legal Writing Fellow. During his 2L year, Jacob helped law students improve their legal writing and learned effective strategies for developing legal writing skills he is excited to implement.
