The Cost of Attendance (COA) is an estimate of what it may cost to attend for one academic year. It’s sometimes called your financial aid budget and can help you plan for both your university expenses and everyday living costs.
The tables below show estimated costs for the 2025–2026 and 2026–2027 academic years. These estimates may change based on state legislation and approval by the University System of Maryland Board of Regents.
Your COA includes two types of expenses:
Indirect expense estimates are based on modest, reasonable spending patterns for UBalt students. Housing status is determined using information from your FAFSA. For dependent students, this generally means living with a parent. Estimates for books, supplies, transportation, and other living expenses are based on a standard 15-week instructional period each semester and research conducted by the Office of Financial Aid.

Your Cost of Attendance is based on your anticipated enrollment during your academic career. For information about enrollment requirements and how enrollment affects your financial aid, visit the Census Date and Financial Aid Eligibility webpage and Financial Aid Offer Information webpages.
When comparing financial aid offers from different schools, look at the total cost of attendance, not just the amount of financial aid offered. Creating a budget can help you understand your costs and decide how to use your financial aid.
Federal regulations generally prohibit students from receiving financial aid that exceeds their Cost of Attendance. In certain circumstances, the Office of Financial Aid may increase a student's COA budget on a case-by-case basis. Learn more about qualifying circumstances for a COA appeal or adjustment.

You can view your estimated Cost of Attendance (COA) through myUBalt. Follow these steps:
Log in to myUBalt and select My Student Center.
Select View Financial Aid.
Select the current aid year. For example, the 2026–2027 academic year is listed as 2027 Aid Year.
Select Financial Aid Budget.
Under Academic Year, select Estimated Financial Aid Budget to view your Fall/Spring COA.
For summer costs, select Estimated Financial Aid Budget under Summer Term.
You can now view your estimated Cost of Attendance for each term.
Please note: The amounts listed are estimates based on your academic program and may change based on your enrollment, academic standing, tuition and fee changes, or other factors. Your Cost of Attendance is an estimate of your educational and living expenses and may differ from the amount you actually pay.
