Microsoft 365 announced on August 23, 2021, through in-app messaging, for Office apps for Android (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Union, OneNote and Outlook) on Chromebooks that the apps will no longer be available in the Google Play store. Users will be able to access Microsoft 365 from the web
- Chromebook devices using Microsoft Intune's app protection policies (APP, also known as mobile application management (MAM)), app protection policies will no longer apply for Android Microsoft 365 apps once they are removed from the Google Play Store and can no longer receive updates. Note: This change does not affect Android devices, Office apps for Android mobile remain supported.

New file types being blocked by Microsoft as of November are '.iso', '.cab' and ‘. jnlp'. The extensions are being blocked due to malware vulnerabilities. Login using your UBalt netID and password.

Support for Microsoft 365 Apps (Office ProPlus) expires March 9, 2021. [MC237980]- At least 20% of your Microsoft 365 Apps (AKA Office ProPlus) clients are running version 1908 of the Semi-Annual Enterprise Channel. Each version of the Semi-Annual Channel is supported for 14 months (or for 18 months after it has been released in the Semi-Annual Enterprise Preview Channel, for testing/validation purpose). Semi-Annual Enterprise version 1908 was released in January 2020 and will be supported until March 9, 2021. (for more information please read: Overview of update channels for Office 365 ProPlus (https://docs.microsoft.com/deployoffice/overview-update-channels) and Update history for Office 365 ProPlus (listed by date) .To fix this problem you need to update your Office 365 ProPlus clients to a supported version of the Semi-Annual Channel and keep your devices up to date. As we Continually assess to imporve security, we are adding additional attachemnet files types to the list of Blocked Files Types. We will begin rolling out early July and expect to complete by late July. The new blocked file types are rarely used, so most organizations will not be affect by the change. However, if your uses are sending and receiving affected attachements, they will report that they are no longer able to download them.

Organizers will soon be able to assign the co-organizer meeting role to up to 10 specific people they invite to their meeting. Co-organizers will be granted most of the capabilities of the organizer in the meeting, including being able to access & modify the meeting options for the meeting.Usage of the co-organizer role for a meeting will be optional. If users choose not to use the co-organizer feature, there will be no change

Participants who join Microsoft Teams meetings as Anonymous users will now be able to turn on and view Live Captions, CART captions and captions in other spoken language in Teams Meetings on desktop.

This option enables users to stream content from directly from physical artifacts such as whiteboards and documents in a legible way. During a Teams call, users will be able to access the projection options simply by clicking Share Content from camera. Two key projection options: Whiteboard mode: Users can point their laptop webcam to their whiteboard to project it to their audience. If the camera detects a whiteboard in view, it is straightened, zoomed in and the presenter's hand or body does not block the content as she writes on it. Document mode: Users can attach an external USB camera, such as a document camera, mounted over a document, to project to their audience. See example and more details by watching this short video

Updates to meeting chat membership [MC226407] - A participants access to meeting chat will be dependent on how they were invited to the meeting: Who can see the chat for a single meeting? People who are invited to the meeting or forwarded the meeting invitation after it is scheduled have access to the chat before, during, and after the meeting (up to the 1000-person limit). People who are added to a meeting after it starts using the Invite someone field on the Participants pane (or are provided the meeting join coordinates in another way) will have access to the chat from the time they join to the time the meeting ends. They will not be able to see chat that takes place after the meeting ends. Who can see the meeting chat for a recurring meeting series? People who are invited to the full series have access to the chat before, during, and after the meeting (up to the 1000-person limit). People who are forwarded the invite of a single occurrence of the series or added to a meeting after it starts using the Invite someone field on the Participants pane (or are provided the meeting coordinates in another way) have access to the chat from the time they join to the time that meeting instance ends. They will not be able to see chat that takes place after the meeting ends. Note: These changes do not impact channel meetings.

Presenter View in Teams Presentation Sharing [MC229331] - complete by mid-February… Once the presenter selects a PowerPoint file from the Teams Share Tray, Presenter View is opened automatically. The presenter can see the current slide, the slide notes, and a thumbnail strip of all the slides in the deck for easy ad-hoc slide navigation. This view is private to the presenter in control.
